Four chat modes
Before you start a conversation, pick a chat mode. The mode shapes how the AI responds throughout the session. You can switch between sessions at any time.Adaptive
Adjusts its depth and pace based on how you respond. Good starting point when you’re not sure what kind of help you need.
Tutor
Breaks concepts down step by step. Use this when you’re new to a topic or struggling to follow a standard explanation.
Buddy
Casual and direct. Good for quick questions or low-pressure review when you just want a straight answer.
Professor
Formal and precise. Use this for technical subjects or when you need an academically rigorous explanation.
How to start a chat session

Go to Clamly Chat
From your dashboard, select Clamly Chat in the sidebar.

Choose a Chat Mode
At the top of the chat panel, select your preferred mode: Adaptive, Tutor, Buddy, or Professor.

Ask Your First Question
Type your question and click Send. Be as specific or as broad as you like.

Keep the Conversation Going
Follow up, ask for clarification, or go deeper on any point. Each session is continuous, so you can build on previous messages.

Ask things like “Can you explain the difference between mitosis and meiosis?” or “What is opportunity cost in economics?” Clamly Chat will explain it at the depth your chosen mode calls for.

Paste in a problem from your coursework and ask Clamly Chat to help you reason through it. In Tutor mode, you’ll get a step-by-step walkthrough rather than a direct answer.
Summarize a topic

Ask for a quick overview of a subject area. Good for refreshing your memory before a lecture or before going deeper into a chapter.
Compare or contrast ideas
Compare or contrast ideas
Ask things like “What’s the difference between X and Y?” or “When would you use approach A vs. approach B?” to sharpen your understanding of related concepts.
Turn your chat into a quiz
At any point in a conversation, ask Clamly Chat to quiz you on what you’ve covered. Say something like “Quiz me on what we just covered” or “Give me five questions on this topic.”Your chat history
All of your Clamly Chat conversations are saved to your account automatically. You can revisit previous sessions from the chat history panel, useful for picking up where you left off or reviewing an explanation you found helpful.Chat history is tied to your account, so your conversations are available across devices as long as you’re logged in.
Session limits by plan
Clamly Chat usage is session-based. Each conversation session counts toward your plan’s limit.
