## Getting started

    Clamly is an all-in-one study platform built for students. It combines AI-generated quizzes, an AI study assistant, spaced-repetition flashcards, notes, a focus timer, study groups, and exam scheduling, all in a single web app.

    Yes, all core features are free, with session-based AI usage included. If you need more AI sessions or want access to extra features, two paid plans are available:

    * **Starter:** \$4.99/month
    * **Pro:** \$9.99/month

    You can upgrade, downgrade, or cancel at any time from your Billing page.

  <Accordion title="What is the minimum age to use Clamly?">
    You must be at least **13 years old** to create a Clamly account. In some EEA countries, the minimum age is **16**. If you're unsure about the rules in your country, check with a parent or guardian before signing up.

    Head to [clamly.app/forgot-password](https://clamly.app/forgot-password), enter the email address linked to your account, and Clamly will send you a password reset link. Check your spam folder if the email doesn't arrive within a few minutes.

## Features

  <Accordion title="What are flashcards and how do they work?">
    Clamly flashcards use the **SM-2 spaced-repetition algorithm** to surface cards at exactly the right moment, right before you're likely to forget them. You can track due cards, monitor your retention rate, and work towards mastering entire decks over time.

  <Accordion title="Does the Pomodoro timer follow me across pages?">
    Yes. The focus timer runs **globally** across the entire app. A mini timer stays pinned to the interface no matter which page you navigate to. Start a session on one page and keep studying elsewhere. The timer keeps going.

  <Accordion title="Can I study with friends?">
    Yes. Create a study group, share the invite code with your friends, and start collaborating. Inside a group you can share quizzes and study together. Group owners and admins can manage members and assign roles.

  <Accordion title="How do I cancel my subscription?">
    You can cancel your subscription at any time from the **Billing page** inside Clamly or directly through the **Stripe customer portal**. Your access continues until the end of the billing period. You won't be charged again after cancellation.

## AI

  <Accordion title="What can I upload to Clamly AI?">
    You can upload **PDFs**, **Word documents**, or **plain text files**, or paste your notes directly into Clamly. Clamly AI reads your material and generates quiz questions and a summary.

  <Accordion title="What is Clamly Chat?">
    Clamly Chat is your AI study assistant. It comes with four distinct modes so you can choose the interaction style that suits you best:

    * **Adaptive:** adjusts its tone and depth based on how you respond
    * **Tutor:** guides you step by step through concepts
    * **Buddy:** casual and conversational, great for brainstorming
    * **Professor:** detailed and academic, ideal for deep understanding

    In any mode, Clamly Chat can explain concepts, answer your questions, and even turn your conversation into a live quiz.

  <Accordion title="What AI model powers Clamly?">
    Clamly uses **Mistral AI** via their API to power its AI features. Mistral does not train on data you submit. Your notes, documents, and quiz responses stay private.

## Privacy and data

  <Accordion title="Is my data safe?">
    Yes. Clamly stores your data in **secure, encrypted databases**. Passwords are hashed and never stored in plain text. Sessions use secure, HTTP-only cookies to protect your login. Clamly is operated from Romania and complies with **GDPR** and EU data protection regulations.

  <Accordion title="Does Mistral AI train on my data?">
    No. Mistral AI does not use data you submit through Clamly to train their models. Your notes, uploaded documents, and chat history are not fed back into AI training pipelines.

  <Accordion title="How do I delete my account?">
    You can delete your account from your **Profile page** inside Clamly. Once you confirm deletion, all of your personal data is permanently removed from Clamly's systems **within 30 days**. This action cannot be undone, so make sure you've exported anything you want to keep beforehand.
