# Manage your profile and account settings in Clamly

> Update your name, email, country, study purpose, and theme in Clamly, and manage cookie preferences or delete your account from one central place.

Your Profile page is where you manage everything personal to your Clamly account. Update your display name, switch themes, set your study purpose, and manage privacy preferences.

## Updating your profile information

<Steps>
  <Step title="Open Profile">
    Click your avatar or initials in the top-right corner of any page, then select **Profile** from the dropdown menu.

  <Step title="Edit Your Details">
    Click the **Edit** button next to the field you want to change. You can update:

    * **Name / Display name:** the name shown across the app and on your achievements
    * **Email address:** used for login and any account notifications
    * **Country:** helps Clamly surface relevant exam boards and curricula
    * **Study purpose:** e.g. school exams, university, professional certification

  <Step title="Save Changes">
    Click **Save** after editing each field. Changes take effect immediately.

<Note>
  If you change your email address, Clamly will send a confirmation link to the new address. Your old email remains active until you verify the new one.

## Choosing your app theme

Clamly supports light and dark themes so you can study comfortably in any environment.

    Navigate to your Profile page as described above.

  <Step title="Select a Theme">
    Under **Appearance**, choose **Light**, **Dark**, or **System** (follows your device's setting). The preview updates instantly.

## Managing cookie and analytics preferences

Clamly uses analytics only to improve the product. You can withdraw or update your consent at any time.

    Scroll to the **Privacy** section on your Profile page and click **Manage Cookie Preferences**.

  <Step title="Toggle Consent">
    Enable or disable analytics cookies using the toggles provided, then click **Save Preferences**.

<Tip>
  Withdrawing analytics consent does not affect your ability to use Clamly. Core functionality cookies are always required.

## Exporting your data

You can download everything Clamly holds about you from your Profile page. See the [Data & Privacy](/account/data-export) guide for full details on what the export contains and your GDPR rights.

## Deleting your account

<Warning>
  Account deletion is **permanent and irreversible**. All your data will be removed within 30 days: quizzes, notes, flashcard decks, todos, exam entries, AI chat history, uploaded files, and achievements. There is no way to recover your account after deletion.

    Open your Profile page from the top-right menu.

  <Step title="Scroll to Danger Zone">
    Scroll to the bottom of the page to find the **Delete Account** section.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Confirm Deletion">
    Click **Delete Account**, then confirm your decision in the dialogue that appears. You may be asked to re-enter your password or confirm via email.

  Clamly accounts are personal, one account per person. You must be at least 13 years old to create and use an account.
