# Clamly plans, payments, and subscription management

> Compare Free, Starter, and Pro plans, upgrade via Stripe, manage or cancel your subscription, and understand how Clamly keeps your payment data secure.

Clamly offers three plans so you can choose the level of access that suits your study goals. Payments go through Stripe. Clamly never sees or stores your card details. You can upgrade, downgrade, or cancel at any time from the Billing page.

## Plans and pricing

<Tip>
  Choosing annual billing on Starter or Pro saves you money compared to paying month by month. The option to switch is available when you upgrade.

## Upgrading your plan

<Steps>
  <Step title="Go to the Billing Page">
    Click your avatar or initials in the top-right corner of Clamly, then select **Billing** from the dropdown menu.

  <Step title="Choose a Plan">
    Review the Starter and Pro plan details and click **Upgrade** on the plan you want. Select **monthly** or **annual** billing.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Enter Payment Details">
    You'll be taken to a secure Stripe-hosted checkout page. Enter your card details there. Clamly never handles or stores your payment information directly.

  <Step title="Confirm Purchase">
    Click **Subscribe** to complete the upgrade. Your new plan activates immediately and your upgraded features are available right away.

## Managing your subscription

  <Step title="Open the Billing Page">
    Go to **Account → Billing** in Clamly.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Click Manage Subscription">
    Click the **Manage Subscription** button to open your Stripe customer portal in a new tab.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Make Your Changes">
    In the Stripe portal you can update your card, switch billing frequency, view past invoices, or cancel.

## Cancelling your subscription

    From the Clamly Billing page, click **Manage Subscription** to open the Stripe portal.

  <Step title="Cancel Plan">
    Select **Cancel plan** and follow the confirmation steps.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Access Until Period Ends">
    After cancelling, your paid features remain active until the end of your current billing period. You won't be charged again after that, and your account automatically moves to the Free plan.

<Note>
  Cancelling your subscription does not delete your account or any of your study data. Everything you've created in Clamly stays intact on the Free plan.

## Payment security

Clamly uses **Stripe** to handle all payment processing. Stripe is PCI-DSS Level 1 certified.

  No. Your card number, CVV, and other payment credentials are entered directly into Stripe's secure, encrypted checkout page. Clamly never sees, receives, or stores your card details at any point.

  Clamly stores only your Stripe customer ID and subscription status. No card data of any kind is held on Clamly's servers.

  Refunds are handled in accordance with applicable consumer protection law. If you believe you are entitled to a refund, contact [support@clamly.app](mailto:support@clamly.app) with your request and order details.
